We believe farmers prefer

Affordable and reliable access to water — without the burden of pump ownership

Problem

Cambodia's rural farmers are trapped in a cycle of poverty and vulnerability. Unreliable rainfall — devastating droughts or destructive floods — often causes crop failure. The high cost of diesel fuel makes irrigation prohibitively expensive, so many farmers grow only one crop a year, leaving their land's full potential unrealized.

Solution

We empower smallholder rice farmers by addressing their biggest challenge: water access. Pteah Baitong provides fully-managed, solar-powered irrigation systems that deliver an abundant water supply with zero upfront costs and zero financial risk. Our integrated service brings long-term quality assurance, affordability, and accountability so farmers have the reliable water they need to thrive.

Farmers in their own words

Before Pteah Baitong came in, leading farmers in my village was a heavy duty. We lacked organized water management and suffered from severe water scarcity — it was every farmer for themselves. Pteah Baitong helped us form a farmer group and introduced solar-powered irrigation — a game-changer that boosted our yields and livelihoods from the first year. Today we work together for the common good of our community.

Mr. MAN Tith — Team Leader, Prey Kuy Farmer Group

As leader of the Kbal Kmouch Farmer Water User Community, I saw our farmers' struggles firsthand. Water was always our biggest problem — we battled droughts and our main lake would run dry when crops needed water most. Now, with Pteah Baitong's solar-powered irrigation, we have reliable water year round. Our community can confidently plant two crops a year — doubling our income.
